Shanel Bayate
(Philippines)-
Shanel Bayate is a student-filmmaker and multimedia artist based in Angono, Rizal, Philippines. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication degree at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Passionate about visual storytelling, her projects explore the transformation of everyday experiences into compelling narratives through film and photography. She has gained practical experience in film production through her internship at Keep Filming Media Production Inc., where she worked on commercial projects and developed skills in project and production management. She also served as a student assistant at PUP’s University Center for Culture and the Arts, contributing to various digital media and cultural productions.
Her film project involvements have received recognition at both local and international festivals, including NCCT’s DokyuBata, Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival 2025, UNHCR Refugee Film Festival, SineOmni Film Festival, Manila Student Film Festival, and The Philippine STAR's Sine-KaLIKHAsan. Internationally, her involvements have been featured at the Creative Climate Awards (USA), Effat International Student Film Festival (Saudi Arabia), and the Lift-Off Global Network.
In addition to her creative pursuits, she is an active member of the Technical and Creatives Department of DZMC Pylon Radio, the official radio arm of PUP College of Communication and a core mentee of the PUP Film Aficionados Circle, where she continues to engage in collaborative learning and film advocacy.
